On Wednesday 23rd September, Bright World Partners Stover School played host to over 400 Primary School pupils for Dartmoor Sports' Cross Country event.
Pupils came from 18 schools involving Years 3-6, with 31 representatives from Stover School, from their link and involvement with the Dartmoor Sports Partnership.
The weather held and turned out to be a wonderful afternoon of Cross Country. The races were divided into age and gender categories of Year 3&4 Girls; Year 3&4 Boys; Year 5&6 Girls; and Year 5&6 Boys, with over 100 pupils participating in each category of the race. The afternoon was extremely successful with pupils, parents and staff alike enjoying the children participating, competing, doing their best and enjoying the experience.
Particular Stover pupils who achieved fantastic results were:
Nell Smith with 2nd place, Abbie Cox with 4th place, Elen Stone with 22nd place
Elliot Fenton with 3rd place, Noah Sutton with 7th place, Oliver Halton with 23rd place
Lucy Eastley-Jones with 8th place, Alice Patterson with 31st place
Noah Fenton with 15th place.
The final results were then declared once the event had finished. With combined scores being calculated with Girls' and Boys' results; Stover U9 team finished a brilliant 2nd position!!! Excellent news.
