James and Lana Foster travelled up to London yesterday morning to watch the RAF centenary flypast. This historic display was to mark 100 years of the Royal Air Force.
At 1:00pm The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, other Members of the Royal Family congregated on the famous Buckingham Palace balcony, and along with Thousands of the general public, who gathered on the historic mall, witnessed the historic flypast where up to 100 aircraft, representing the RAF’s history, flew majestically over Buckingham Palace.
"It brought a tear to our eyes to see these impressive machines fly over in such well-planned synchronicity. We saw new and old, the Lancaster, Typhoons, Spitfires and the famous Red Arrows. One of the highlights was when the Typhoons flew over in the formation of the figure 100 – a truly impressive sight.
The fly over lasted 9 minutes and we were then treated to a display of marching bands with over 1,000 servicemen and women taking part in the parade."
