Earlier this month, 4 members of our Head Office team attended the 10th anniversary of the British Boarding Schools Workshop (BBSW) and the 19th event overall.
BBSW aims to get back to basics in a fast-paced technological age, by allowing schools and agents the chance to meet face-to-face, whether it’s within a scheduled appointment, over a cup of coffee, or at breakfast.
Over two days, our Managing Director, Director of Admissions and two Guardianship Care Managers met with many UK boarding schools and carefully selected educational consultants representing over 50 countries worldwide. This presented our team with the perfect opportunity to introduce themselves to our new partners and to update existing partner agents on the latest news and developments from Bright World. We like to keep all of our partners consistently updated with our new policies and programmes and enjoy having a good catch up at this bi-annual event.
All agents at BBSW are carefully selected and screened to ensure a high quality representation. Only those who are already established in the UK boarding schools' market, or who are genuinely trying to establish themselves in the market, are accepted. Approximately 85 agencies attended the workshop and it was a very special event for Bright World’s Managing Director, Lana Foster who met some of these agents at the very first workshop back in April 2006.
To mark the BBSW’s very special birthday, guests were treated to a gala dinner at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel. After dinner, opera singers posing as waiters and a chef treated everyone to a surprise performance and brought everyone to their feet.
It was a pleasure to attend such a fantastic event and congratulations to the British Boarding School’s Workshop on their 10th anniversary. We look forward to continuing our support at the BBSW in the many years to come.
"Bright World is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment."
Today, Bright World's Directors launched the brand new WOW Award. The award recognises the importance of thanking our hardworking staff throughout the year, as each event passes. The first ever winner of this award has already been named.
At Moreton Hall, a Bright World partner school, one student has more to celebrate than just a grade A in her Theatre Studies A level. Drama scholarship student, Alice Williams, has beaten the competition to gain a place on the prestigious Stage Management course at RADA.
