Welcome to Bright World’s new fortnightly blog where we keep you up to date with all of the goings on in our head office.
It’s no secret that we are a nation that loves a good cake, with Afternoon Tea topping polls as one of Britain’s most celebrated traditions. So, this week our head office staff decided to put their baking skills to the test in Bright World’s first ever cake-making competition: The Great Bright World Bake-off. From cheesecake, to breads, to a gingerbread Bright World office, our staff produced some impressive bakes that made it very difficult for our judges to decide on an overall winner. Congratulations to Simon King- Senior Guardianship Care Manager for winning ‘Best Technique’, Lana Foster-Managing Director for ‘Best Presentation’ and Carol Gill- Admissions Manager for ’Best Taste’. It’s clear that we have some very talented cooks in our head office.
With the bake-off providing a great start to the week, our team is now full of sugar and raring to go! School may be out for summer but our head office team will still be very busy over the next few months.
Our Guardianship Care Managers (GCMs) are hard at work preparing for the arrival of our students after the school holidays. It is very important that we keep our students safe while they’re travelling and we want to make sure that our trusty Bright World Drivers will be there to meet and greet the students on time. August is a busy time for new guardianship enrolments, so our GCMs are also updating our cloud based system with these students information and gaining information from parents and partner agents to help them set up arrangements for the year ahead.
At Bright World we recruit new Host Families year round, so our Safeguarding, Travel & Accommodation department are busy screening and police checking prospective host families and arranging home visits. At Bright World we ensure that all adults in the family to undergoe an important DBS (Disclosure & Barring Check) . This is also a requirement for ALL Bright World Drivers.
Bright World’s Admissions team also have their hands full collecting CAS numbers for new students and putting their applications towards their prospective schools, universities and colleges for 2016. The department is also in constant contact with all of our schools, updating fees and making sure that all potential students are up to date with rankings and achievements.
This is an equally eventful time for our Sales and Marketing Department as they piece together the second edition of Bright World’s annual magazine, ‘Bright Eye’. This year our marketing team have packed it with some very entertaining and factual articles, so watch this space for a link to our digital copy, which will be published this September. The department is also preparing for its annual publications review so we will have some brand new brochures and leaflets to send your way soon.
With all of this hard work, a cup of tea and a slice of cake sounds perfect! Take a look at our Instagram account:@brightworldguardianships, to view our bake-off masterpieces and we hope that you’ve been inspired bake something yourself this week!
The Bright World Team.
