Welcome to Bright World Hub; our new blog segment where we give you the very latest news from our ever growing team.
As summer draws to a close, Our Marketing Department are breathing a rather large sigh of relief now that our annual magazine ‘Bright Eye,’ has gone to print. A massive thank you to all our partner Boarding Schools & Colleges who have supported us by advertising. Inside this year’s edition, we have an exclusive behind the scenes look at our new Travel and Accommodation department, the story of our annual Local Coordinator conference and even a staff baby competition! There are some cultural and artistic articles too; fashion, festivals, food and even a mention of our ongoing obsession with the weather! Click here to have a read.
15 and getting younger every day... Tuesday marked our 15th year birthday. After starting the company alone back in 2000, Managing Director, Lana Foster is extremely proud of what the company has achieved and the team who continue to uphold and grow our boarding school placement, guardianship and recent Relax & Revise programmes:
“I may look and feel older but Bright World gets younger and fitter each year.”
Happy Birthday Bright World!
Out and about... Managing Director Lana Foster and our Director of Sales and Marketing, Charlotte Hamson travelled to London recently to attend the office opening ceremony for our Super Star Partners at Beijing New Oriental Vision Overseas Consulting. General Manager of the new office Wilson Wang welcomed guests to Hotel Russell to celebrate the new UK venture. Owner and founder of INTO University Partnerships, Andrew Colin gave a engaging speech where he congratulated New Oriental Vision Overseas Consulting UK on their success and professionalism in the UK overseas education market. Other guest speakers also took to the stage to applaud the New Oriental and to mark the occasion. After the party, Lana and Charlotte headed to this year’s ST Alphe UK workshop. Both thoroughly enjoyed the event and were delighted to form new friendships with agents from all over the world. ST Alphe’s sister organisation, ST Magazine also printed a feature on our new Relax and Revise Programme, which made our stand quite the attraction during the weekend. The article introduced, Relax & Revise as a new alternative to the traditional option of homestay during half terms and the Easter holidays and has now been sent to over 32,000 education agents worldwide!
As a result of this new offering to students and parents, our Guardianship Care Managers and Accommodation and Travel Managers have been hard at work together making arrangements for Relax and Revise on behalf of students, as well as assigning students to host families for this term’s exeat and half term. We have some wonderful new host families joining us this year and so our safeguarding team has been very busy ensuring that all the necessary steps have been taken to house visit and process those all important DBS checks.
Party Time... September has also been an exciting month for our Travel and Accommodation Department. Claire Taylor, our Director of Safeguarding and Operations and Hannah Newton, our Senior Travel and Accommodation Manager, have been busy welcoming new and returning students to two of our partner schools. Bright World has worked closely with both Rossall School and Queen Ethelburga’s School for a number of years, and so we teamed up to launch the first of many Bright World Welcome Parties with the help of our lovely Local Coordinator’s, Liz Trist, Carolyn Smith, Loretta Vilkyte, Rebecca Warboys and Stasia Jackson. These welcome parties are designed to give students the chance to meet their Bright World Buddy, who will be helping them throughout the year, as well as the opportunity to meet and chat with other Bright World students. A member of the Bright World team will also be there to answer any questions that students or their parents have about our services.
Until next time...
The Bright World Team
