Co-educational UK Boarding school in North Yorkshire

Ashville College is an independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 3-18 years. The College is in Harrogate, one of the North of England’s most attractive towns, and is close to the local airport and major road and rail links. It has good shops, cinemas, lots of places to eat, and is set in the heart of beautiful countryside. Harrogate has all the attractions of a city without the drawbacks of urban living.

Ashville College was founded in 1877 by the Methodist Church. The school believe that their teaching, facilities and environment reflect the very best in contemporary education. Their aim is to provide a broad, balanced and appropriate education for each of their students. They recognise that no two children are the same, and therefore cannot create a formula for education which will work for every student. Instead they focus on individual development, and seek ways to help each member of the community discover his or her strengths.

Ashville values all round education, both in and out of the classroom, and believe that children and young adults succeed most academically when their other talents and passions are interwoven within their daily school life.

Boarding school life

Boarders at Ashville live in well-equipped and comfortable Houses. There are no more than eight students in any dormitory and Sixth Formers have study bedrooms. The boarding houses offer a ‘home from home’ and each house is equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities, a lounge, pool table, Sky TV, DVD and Wi Fi access. There is also a Medical Centre which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The school campus has playing fields, a sports centre and swimming pool, all of which can be used after school and at weekends.

At weekends there is a varied activities programme in place, which offers pupils a chance to step out of their ‘comfort zone’ and enjoy different activities. "Being a boarder is like being in a big is the heart of the Ashville community."
