The University
system in the UK
The bachelors degree in the UK normally takes three years to complete and
most are awarded at honours level (BA Hons). Examples of bachelor degrees
are BA - Bachelor of Arts, BEng - Bachelor of Engineering and BSc - Bachelor
of Science.
Entry requirements for overseas students:
Academic - students must be at least 18 years old and have completed secondary
education in their own country and in some cases have completed a foundation
course in the UK. Bright World can advise you on a range of private foundation
courses as well as those offered by UK universities. Students who have completed
part of their bachelors degree programme in their own country can apply for
second or third year entry to a UK degree.
Language - students must have taken an IELTS (International English Language
Testing System) examination and have a score of 5.5 - 6.0 overall for most
UK universities. Many of our universities offer pre-sessional English courses.

Postgraduate masters degrees
Masters degrees in the UK are very intensive and can be completed in just
one year - much less than in most other countries where they take two years.
Examples of masters courses are MBA - Master of Business Administration,
MA - Master of Arts, MEng - Master of Engineering, Mmus - Master of music.
A PHD degree in the UK can take between two and seven years.
Entry requirements for overseas students:
Academic - students must be at least 21 years old and have completed a bachelors
degree in their own country or in the UK. For most MBA courses at least 2
years working experience is also required. Students who have completed a
2 or 3 year diploma course in their own country will need to complete a top
up foundation year before entering their masters course. Bright World can
advise you on a range of private masters foundation courses as well as those
offered by UK universities.
Language - students must have taken an IELTS (International English Language
Testing System) examination and have a score of 6.0 - 6.5 overall for most
UK universities. Many universities offer pre-sessional English courses. Bright
