East Anglia University

UEA was first opened in 1963 offering students choice and individuality from the start. The choice of ‘Do Different’ as the University’s motto was a deliberate signal that it was going to look at new ways of providing university education. For instance UEA was the first university to introduce the modular system of teaching, providing even more flexible ways for students to combine units of teaching towards a degree.

Academic staff can teach a choice of nearly 300 courses ranging from Environmental Sciences to World Art and Museology, from Biological Sciences to Development Studies. The university itself is situated 2 miles away from the city of Norwich which promises students a vibrant nightlife and social scene. UEA is set amongst 320 acres of beautiful parkland and features award winning campus buildings by architects such as Sir Norman Foster. The pyramidal student accommodation is particularly striking and reflects the individuality of UEA. Much investment has been spent in providing students with a new swimming pool, sports park and a new school of medicine.
