Bede's Summer School, Eastbourne is set high on a cliff-top with magnificent views over the wholebay of Eastbourne, in close proximity to the spectacular South Downs and within walking distance of the beach. Located just on the edge of the coastal resort of Eastbourne, this compact centre, founded in 1895, creates the feeling of a family home, providing a safe, caring and happy environment for our youngest students.
You can choose a course from 1-6 weeks in duration.
Up to 75 students per week from different countries, with a maximum of 10 students per class.
Most bedrooms have 4 to 8 beds and have a bed, wardrobe and sometimes a bedside cabinet. Bathrooms are shared.
There is a full programme including lessons and a wide range of sports, activities, clubs and Sports Academy options to choose from, including optional Horse Riding, Swimming Lesson or Animal Management. There is evening social entertainment and there are two excursions per week.
There are 17.5 hours of lessons per week including English Skills, Story Time and Explorations. Beginners follow an intensive English course.
Sports facilities include sports hall, swimming pool, dance studio, playing fields and drama theatre.
Computer suite for access to internet (filtered) and email. St Bede’s tuck shop for drinks and snacks.Laundry is done for students at least twice each week.
St Bede’s staff live in the same houses as the students and care for them 24 hours a day. The House Parent is responsible for all students in each boarding house. There is access to medical care if students are sick.
