Bethany School: Celebrity Alumni and the Latest Boarding News

This year has been an incredible year for Bright World’s Partner School, Bethany School. Not only have some Bethany Alumni become household names, but the school has also had a record number of pupils sit their Entrance Assessments for Year 7 entry.

“I am aware that, whilst our marketing and admissions processes are both very efficient, it is word of mouth that is the greatest advocate for Bethany so thank you very much for continuing to spread the good word.” Francie Healy, Headmaster.

One of Bethany School’s former pupils is a lead actor in the British soap opera, EastEnders and the school are delighted that Aaron Sidwell who plays Steven Beale has agreed to come and be interviewed by the Headmaster on Wednesday, 23rd November. Parents are more than welcome to attend and if you wish to come then please inform the school office accordingly so that they can ensure that you are appropriately accommodated. If there are any questions that you would like the Headmaster to ask on your behalf, please let him know. This will take place in the Function Suite at 7.00 p.m.

This isn’t the first time that a former student at Bethany School has appeared on national television. Earlier this year, former Bethany School student, Charlie Andrew, was up against Mark Ronson to win 'British Producer of the Year 2016'. Charlie has worked with British Band Alt-J as a producer on both of their albums and with the world-famous group Madness, for which he won the Barclaycard Mercury Prize. The former student is also known to have set up the industry favourite 'In the Woods' festival, which showcases up-and-coming musical talent every year.

In other news, Bethany School held their Inter House Public Speaking Competition earlier this month. All the contributors spoke wonderfully well and we are very glad that we weren’t on the judging panel as we are told that picking the winners was extremely difficult.

The school also held their annual Remembrance Service in Marden Church and, once again, it was excellently delivered and sensitively observed by all pupils.

“It is only right that we take time out from our busy schedules to acknowledge our past and all pupils were wonderfully respectful during the emotional hour-long service.” Francie Healy, Headmaster.

The school also held their Sixth Form Open Evening on Friday, 18th November at 6.00 p.m. This took place in their recently opened Sixth Form Centre.
