Alexanders is an international boarding school for young students (11 to 17 years) from all over the world. It is located on the Bawdsey Manor Estate in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Suffolk coast. Alexanders is accredited by the British Council for the Teaching of English and has over 30 years experience in education. It is a member f the SKOLA Group of Schools.
Alexanders provides an individual service to its international students. They offer high-quality English language tuition in combination with schools subjects. Individual progress is closely monitored by class teachers and the Director of Studies and, as English language skills improve, students join classes to study a range of academic subjects. Our subject teachers are skilled and experienced in working with second language speakers, enabling students to practice English in authentic situations. Project and research work develops study skills in readiness for English speaking schools and colleges.
We Alexanders offers both English language examinations and IGCSE's/GCSE's - 80% scoring A to C at IGCSE English as a Second Language in 2008. The Foundation programme can be for 1, 2 or 3 terms depending on needs and students may join any term.
The Head of Boarding and Pastoral Staff are responsible for the care and welfare of students. Students are accommodated in separate residences on campus, taking their meals in the dining room with staff. Meals are healthy with a variety of choice. In the evenings and at weekends sports and activities are available and visits for educational purposes are included.
